How an SME brings AI into everyday work.
Start with one recurring work process, not with a tool. Leaders, a core team and the people who do the work agree a goal, test AI in two limited pilots and anchor what works in daily routines.
I lead this route as a 90-day transformation partnership with MMIND.ai, for SMEs and public organisations in Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Austria and southern Germany.
For whom
- SMEs and public organisations that want to introduce AI in one concrete work process.
- Leadership teams or boards that are ready to set a goal and give a core team time.
- Teams that want to learn on their own cases rather than in generic training.
Not the right fit
- A tool roll-out without involving the people who do the work.
- Projects that expect AI to approve results or change specialist systems on its own.
The route in five steps
01
Set the direction
With the leadership team or board, agree the shared goal, the priority and who is responsible.
02
Listen and understand
Involve employees and stakeholders and understand how the work process runs today and where it gets stuck.
03
Decide
Design the future process: what can go, what becomes simpler or more consistent, where AI supports and where people check and decide.
04
Test together
Configure two limited pilots, test them on real cases and improve them based on the results.
05
Anchor in daily work
Teams practise on their own cases, pass on what they learn and agree the effect, roadmap and future responsibility.
What the 90 days include
- One core team, one prioritised work process and two pilots. Around five consultant days per month including preparation.
- Management advice with the leadership team or board, process workshops and reviews after 30, 60 and 90 days.
- Method and templates for process and use-case work, configuration, test cases and clear review rules.
- Three team trainings of four hours, 12 hours of coaching or workplace support and twelve weekly Q&A sessions of 30 minutes, for up to 35 people in groups of at most twelve.
- A Digital Maturity Assessment (DMA) before and after the project. The method draws on Theory U by Otto Scharmer / Presencing Institute, adapted to AI adoption by MMIND.ai.
- Optional from month 4, with 30 days' notice and no automatic renewal: «Learning and exchange» at CHF 1,800 per month (CHF 1,260 with funding) or «Transfer and development» at CHF 3,500 per month (CHF 2,450 with funding).
| Service | Scope | Project value | EDIH.li funding | Own share |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AI transformation | 3 months at CHF 7,000 | 21,000 | 6,300 | 14,700 |
| DMA before the project | Starting point | 315 | 315 | 0 |
| DMA after the project | Effect and next steps | 315 | 315 | 0 |
| Total | 90 days including both DMAs | 21,630 | 6,930 | 14,700 |
All values in CHF, excluding VAT. 30% funding on the partnership; both DMAs funded at 100%. Funding requires eligibility in the EDIH.li programme, which is checked before the project starts.
Limits
- AI supports; people check and decide. There is no autonomous approval or change in specialist systems.
- Technical implementation, platform and operation are handled by a technology partner and planned separately where needed.
- Funding depends on eligibility in the EDIH.li programme.

Questions and answers
How should an SME start with AI?
Choose one recurring work process where time is lost or rework is common. Agree a goal and a way to judge the result, then test AI in a limited pilot with the people who do the work. A 30-minute conversation with EDIH.li can help choose that first task.
What does an AI transformation cost for an SME?
The 90-day partnership costs CHF 7,000 per month for three months. Including the DMA before and after, the project value is CHF 21,630. With the listed EDIH.li funding, the own share is CHF 14,700, or CHF 4,900 per month. All values exclude VAT.
How much funding is available?
The listed EDIH.li funding is CHF 6,930: 30% on the partnership and 100% on both DMAs. It requires eligibility in the EDIH.li programme, which is checked before the project starts.
Who needs to take part?
The leadership team or board, a core team and the teams affected. They contribute time and release test material. Goal, pilots, review criteria and dates are agreed together.
Does the AI decide on its own?
No. AI supports the work; people check and decide. Your organisation decides whether a pilot is approved.
What happens after 90 days?
We review the effect and agree the roadmap and responsibilities. There is no automatic renewal. From month 4, two follow-on formats can be booked separately.
Booking opens the EDIH.li business conversation with Hartmut Hübner via Google Meet. Terms, funding and further support are clarified before any work starts.
